The optometry exam room equipment category includes essential tools designed to assist individuals who suffer from migraines, and the Akebi Over-Glasses are specifically crafted to address the hypersensitivity to light that many migraine sufferers experience. These innovative glasses utilize two fundamental principles for efficacy: they effectively block UV rays while significantly reducing light transmission around the 484nm wavelength, a known trigger for ophthalmic migraines. By minimizing exposure to this specific spectrum of light, Akebi Over-Glasses provide proactive migraine prevention and relief for users.

Within the retina, melanopsin—a photopigment found in ganglion cells—is sensitive to blue light, which contributes to triggering migraine episodes. The Akebi lenses expertly filter wavelengths that inhibit the brain's chemical responses to light, thus offering substantial relief. This characteristic makes them an essential addition to any optometry exam room equipment setup.

Akebi Over-Glasses come in a variety of tints, with five distinct options available to cater to individual preferences and requirements. These different tints ensure that users can find the ideal solution for their specific light sensitivity levels. Whether dealing with a basic prescription or more complex lens corrections, the Akebi range can accommodate any lens index, whether high index or extra thin.

To enhance user comfort and usability, the collection also includes clip-ons and full glasses options, making these glasses versatile and accessible. Manufactured in France, the Akebi Over-Glasses are CE certified, confirming their quality and safety for all users. This ensures that patients can trust the products they receive in their optometry exams.
